Claude Verification Code Login Guide: Not Receiving Emails, Repeated Verification, and Device Sync

Claude’s most common login methods are email verification codes or Google account authorization. The process isn’t complicated, but it’s also the easiest place to get stuck on “not receiving the email” or “repeated verification.” This guide walks through, in the actual order of operations, how to log in to Claude, how to sync across different devices, and where to troubleshoot when something goes wrong.

How to Choose a Claude Login Method: Email Verification Code vs. Google Authorization

After opening the Claude official website, you can usually choose to log in by receiving a verification code via email, or log in directly via Google account authorization. It’s recommended that you stick to one method long-term, because Claude’s chat history and subscription status are tied to that login identity. If you switch back and forth between a work Google account and a personal Google account, it’s easy to later run into the misunderstanding of “not seeing my history.”

With an email verification code, after you enter your email address, Claude will send a one-time code; with Google authorization, you simply select an account in the pop-up and confirm permissions. In essence, both are single sign-on methods—try to avoid frequently switching accounts within the same browser.

Not Receiving the Verification Code: Check Step by Step from Email Delivery to Browser Blocking

If Claude’s verification email doesn’t arrive, first check Spam, Promotions, or folders where “security/quarantine” rules may have intercepted it—many email services misclassify automated emails. After confirming the email address is correct, click resend once more; waiting 1–2 minutes between attempts is more reliable.

If you repeatedly can’t receive it in a mainland China network environment, first check whether your network is stable and whether you have blocking extensions enabled that might interfere with verification (ad blockers, privacy plugins, etc.). You can also try a different browser or an incognito window to avoid old cookies causing an abnormal Claude verification flow.

Repeated Verification or a White Screen: Clearing Site Data Is More Effective Than “Refresh”

If, after entering the verification code, you’re sent back to the login page again, or the page turns into a white screen and doesn’t move, it’s usually not a code issue but a messed-up local session state. A more effective approach is to clear claude.ai site data (cookies and cache) in your browser settings, then reopen Claude and log in again.

If you’re signed into multiple Google accounts at the same time, it’s recommended to separate them using browser Profiles: one Profile dedicated to one Claude account. This can significantly reduce cases where Claude selects the wrong account during authorization or bounces back due to permission issues.

Multi-Device Sync and Account Confirmation: Missing History Is Usually Because “the Login Method Changed”

Claude’s conversation history syncs in the cloud with your account, as long as you’re logged in with the same identity on both your phone and computer. The most common pitfall is: using Google login on the computer and email-code login on the phone. It looks like “Claude didn’t sync,” but in fact they’re two different accounts.

You can check the currently logged-in email/authorized account in Claude’s account menu; if they don’t match, log out and then log back in using the same method. After that, when switching between devices, try to keep using the same browser Profile and the same login entry point—Claude’s syncing will be much more stable.
