According to tech media outlet The Information, SpaceXAI, Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company, is experiencing a significant talent exodus. Since SpaceX completed its acquisition of xAI and rebranded to SpaceXAI in February, more than 50 researchers and engineers have left, including top experts in critical areas such as programming, world models, and the Grok voice system.
Among the departing employees, at least 11 have joined Meta, and seven others have chosen to join Thinking Machine Labs, founded by former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati. Insiders reveal that employee dissatisfaction largely stems from frequent rushed decisions that compromise quality during the development of the Grok model. Additionally, SpaceX's stock options and financial return opportunities have made it easier for these experts to decide to leave.
