At the 2026 Google I/O conference, the company announced a series of new features powered by Gemini, covering core products and services such as Search, Android XR, and Workspace. Among them, the next-generation model Gemini 3.5 Pro has entered the testing phase and is expected to be officially launched next month; at the same time, Gemini Spark for AI Ultra users will roll out in the US starting next week. These updates will gradually expand across Gemini apps, Search, YouTube Shorts, and Google Flow.
On the Search front, Google demonstrated the Gemini-powered Antigravity 2.0 technology and announced major improvements to AI Overviews. In the US, Gemini apps and Search will gain new capabilities this summer, later extending to YouTube and Gmail. Additionally, the Android XR platform officially debuted, designed to deliver native AI interactions for mixed-reality devices, while Android Halo was launched as a next-generation privacy and security framework. Developers can directly access these new model capabilities via the Gemini API.
